    To anyone who watched Rams/Niners
I have a question. I was watching the game, hoping for a Niners loss or a tie, to knock people out of my Survivor Pool.

I thought Fisher did a tremendous job managing the game, and play calling. I have one serious beef with a decision he made, that should have costed the Rams the game.

The Rams complete a pass to Amendola down to the 2 yard line of SF with about 1:10 remaining. Why in the hell did Fisher call a time out as soon as the play was whistled dead?? The Rams had all 3 timeouts, and the clock was at 1:10 and running with the Rams behind 4. They easily easily could have ran the clock down, and if they didn't score on 1st and goal, they call a timeout then. San Fran should have been forced to decide if they wanted to use 1 of their 2 remaiing timeouts or let the clock continue to tick.

Instead the Rams find the endzone with over a minute, and San Fran has 2 timeouts, which helped them march down field, and send the game to OT.

Why did Fisher call the timeout??

I wondered the same thing. Left way to much time to be on the 2.

Saw that. There was no reason to, unless he wanted to go over the next play, or maybe there was an issue with the headset. The TO seemed immediate after the completion, so I don't think it was to avoid a delay of game either.

Harbaugh should be sending Fisher a thank you card for allowing him to save an extra TO.

Even if he wanted to go over the next play, let the clock wind down........because more then likely Harbaugh would have called a TO a few seconds later.

Just a reminder he's human I suppose, normally much more efficient than that. Haven't seen any post-gamers but maybe the question came up there.

Very badly coached game by both sides.

Lou....ya I should look into that.

The second it happened, I thought the announcer made a mistake saying St. Louis called a TO.

k13.......actually, I disagree. Other then this Fisher called a tremendous game. His offensive play calling was great. He had a lock down defense looking very pedestrian (and did so with an offensive in the bottom half). He also forced San Fran to dink and dunk, and didn't allow for big plays, like Brady was able to do in London.

And the fake punts were outstanding. He found something in tape, and converted both without a sweat. He realized the Niners are the superior team, and needed to pull out the trick bag to compete.....and it worked!

Rams also had a timeout they didn't use in overtime when the game clock was down to 1. 53 yard fg good but flag. 58 yard fg not a Chance.

Paco......yes they did have a difficult time with the play clock winding down.
I guess Fisher figured they were gonna snap the ball, and didn't want to ice his own kicker!

Im not in the sportsbook survivor pool.

My pool only has 136 left out the 2,016 that started. 88 on Pittsburgh tonight, so a huge upset can get it under 50.
I had Baltimore this week, and saved New England and Pittsburgh.

It's felt like 1 since I lost my other card week 1.

There were numerous delay of games and the missed FG delays. Badly called timeouts.

It only looked like a decent called game because Alex Smith went out of the game who was ripping the Rams up.
143.8 qb rating and 9 yards a pass is not limiting anything.

k13.....I agree the TO's were poorly called/not called!

But I think the play calling was tremendous. St. Louis was not supposed to shread the Niners defense the way they did.

I believe the Rams were ahead a TD when Smith left....correct?

Coaches are fking STUPID. None of them know how to manage a clock. They all act like the clock is only for their team. If there's a minute left they freak out and want to get in right away. Never mind you can run the ball and take off 30 seconds and then run another play and start using time outs. It worked out for me as I had SF 2nd half -7 (which was the same as pk)

Dont see delay of game on a field goal that often. Particularly in a scenario where they were not playing beat the clock to line up for it at the end of a game. Just a pretty routine send the field goal unit out and kick it. If STL was a major market team the media would make a whole week about it.
