Why does John Harbaugh not get the same criticism.....
Someone started a thread about why people are so easy on Rex Ryan....and John Harbaugh was brought up. A poster mentioned that John Harbaugh has been as successful as Ryan...which got me wondering.

Why isn't John Harbaugh held to the same standard as Ryan? Is it solely because of Rex's attitude?

Harbaugh has had a better QB, very solid defenses, a MUCH better/premier RB. Every year the Ravens are "Superbowl hopefuls" but the guy continues to fail at getting over the hump. He's also had an extra year than Rex at his job.

I always criticize Rex, and just thought this about Harbaugh, so I guess I'm guilty of it too.

What other coaches are quietly failing as much as Rex?

Oh Andy Reid is a perennial failure. He doesn't count Paco. These guys are amateur failures...he's a pro.

          1. John Harbaugh does not paint a neon target on his own back.
          2. Baltimore media exponentially < NY media
          3. World Champs don't play in his stadium.
          4. Tyrod Taylor has not formed any cult of personality as of yet.

Mike Smith is a better comparison, but his team has had his back, Week 10 not withstanding. 3-6 might be an over achievement for the Jets. The whole talking yourself into being a badass thing has a limited shelf life, especially if you are a bunch of punks like the Jets are in reality.

Head Coaches are just like Quarterbacks....you just have a lot of mediocre ones and like 2-3 top/elite.

                    Rex - 4 years - 4-2 playoff record (.667)

                    John - 5 years - 5-4 playoff record (.556)

                    Calm down there pal.

I'll just throw in that the Ravens probably would have been in the super bowl last year if it wasn't for Cundiff that's not a coaching fault
