    Richmond/Syracuse 6pm Est
Living in Syracuse I get to see a lot of this team and I really think that the book makers are giving them a little too much credit for the game tonight. Syracuse should win this game easily but 16 points is a tough number for this team to cover that is still trying to find an identity.

Rautins and Devendorf are coming off ACL injuries and still are not 100%. The team is still trying to figure out how to work their talented Freshman Mike Mookie Jones into the lineup as they seem to have a logjam at the forward position. Paul Harris has improved his jump shot over the last couple of years but it is till not up the level that it needs to be with the size that he has. Johnny Flynn is the real deal and is a great talent but he is undersized and has a tendency to disappear in some games.

Syracuse has looked pretty dreadful offensively in their first 2 games against bad competition. I know the first was an exhibition against Indiana University of PA but there is no reason that a school of that level should have kept it that close. The final score against Lemoyne is very misleading as they really struggled all night long and put in a bunch of late garbage points.

Like I said, I don't think Syracuse will lose but 16 points is a lot to lay on this game. Take this information and use it as you like as I know this team very well.

I think they will be better without that 6'11 clown who only shoots 25 foot threes

Greene really did limit them offensively last year. A 6'11 guy that has no inside presence. He really needed to stick around 2 more years, become stronger, and develop some inside moves. He wasn't NBA ready and it showed when dropped like a rock in the draft.

I'm a lifelong 'Cuse fan myself and I don't like betting most of their games. Haven't seen them play yet, so looking forward to this game. I'd think maybe a Syracuse first half bet might be better than the overall game if you don't like the -16. At home, they should start alright against a Richmond team that's okay, but not great. I'd guess the line is -8 or so since I haven't looked for the 1st half. They should be up 10 if they come to play.

when team is favored by that much line is more than half, probably -9.5 or 9 at some books

I am the same way...I generally don't bet 'cuse games myself but I really think this line should be more in the 12 range rather than 16. The Richmond team is well coached and if they can hit some jumpers up against the 2-3 zone they could stick around for a while.

                Syracuse-Richmond. 2 seed losing to a 15 seed.

I bet that was a painful day for you Amby. If you were even old enough to watch sports back then young'un.

SHHHHHHH don't bring things like that up... I am well aware of that game. People in 'Cuse still talk about that and the Vermont game all the time.

Two games that will never be forgotten.

I completely agree with you AMB... I said pretty much the same thing in a couple previous threads when someone asked about the game. Cuse typically stumbles early in the season with Jimmy tinkering the lineup and subs trying to see what works. Sienna almost beat them last year and some other shit school like Robert Jones or something...

Im from liverpool where you from??

I never bet them as a big favorite as they play down to their competition.
I love playing them as dogs though!

Big Syracuse fan here. I'm nervous about this season, I'm just not sure the parts will come together. I'm also concerned Boeheim is winding down a bit. than again, as a Syracuse fan, I am ALWAYS concerned. I wouldn't even think about laying 16 tonight.

Yeah but we'll always have John Wallace & Jason Cippola against Georgia & Hakim Warrick's block in the Championship game.

This season will be like the last 5 or so. Sweating it out on selection Sunday. WE NEED TO GET BACK IN THE DANCE!
