Phil is demanding a shit ton. D'Antoni and Nash is very viable. A pick and roll system with Nash and D.Howard/Gasol is insanely deadly. And that doesn't even include the best player on that team.

Phil will only come back if he doesn't have to go on the road, and basically wants GMing abilities.

D'Antoni doesn't ask for any of that.

Also, Kobe's favorite player growing up was D'Antoni.

The main thing to take away here is that Phil wouldn't even dream of coming back unless he thinks he could win it all.
