    Maybe a dumb question.
I just wonder why the deciding factor in the beat the Prick contest is the number of posts....what the hell does that say about your betting abilities....just a thought???

To limit the number of winners to 20 or less. Gotta have some kind of tie breaker.

the tie-breaker could be to include a exact prediction on MNF total points scored.

my guess it's a loyalty type thing if it comes down to a tie breaker.

My guess... they want to promote their forum and get people to post... also, they want to keep people just posting picks and never reading/particapating in the forum...

I have no doubt that the thinking behind using that type of tie-breaker was to encourage posting on the forum.

It's a mixed bag. It can encourage people to just spam, but it could also maybe draw out some lurkers who could become quality contributing members.

Personally I'd prefer some kind of capping-related tie-breaker (like the total points on Monday night) but whatever.

I am in the freakish position of actually being one of the most prolific posters here - I've never been anywhere near that position at a forum before - so I shouldn't complain.

You and Mudcat hit the nail on the head. That's exactly why.

I'd have to agree about having a capping-related tiebreaker. Although having posts being the tiebreaker encourages people to post here, there are people who have been here for some time (pre-Prick era) who have way more posts than a newbie could catch up to. Therefore, the big posters have nothing to worry about. If somehow they could have been reset for the Prick contest, it might have been better.

Again, I'm not complaining as the Prick contest is free money and you can't beat that!
