who was the best althete that turned entertianers
theres a few athletes that did have success as an actor.

Bob Uecker has had great success for his role in major league and Mr. Belvidere. another one would be O.J. Simpson for those naked gun movies he did. theres a few other ones out there i know of, but those are the two that really stood out to me. who else do you feel has had pertty good success as an entertianer ?

I dont know if entertainer is the word but former Cracovia Cracow's goalkeeper Karol Wojtyla went on to be pretty famous. (Pope Jhon Paul II)

Easily Kurt Thomas, for his role in the greatly underestimated Gymkata. The skill of gymnastics, the kill of karate.

I really can't think of anything. You have all these models who make decent actresses, but sports guys as actors, I can only think of The Rock. I guess Arnold would count if you count bodybuilders

                      From Wikipedia:

Johnny Weissmuller (June 2, 1904 – January 20, 1984) was one of the world's best swimmers in the 1920s, winning five Olympic gold medals and one bronze medal. He won fifty-two US National Championships and set sixty-seven world records. After his swimming career, he played Tarzan in twelve motion pictures. Other actors also played Tarzan, but Weissmuller was the best-known. His distinctive, ululating Tarzan yell is still often used in films.
                      Does that answer the question?

Thats what first came to my mind. He has did plenty of movies, that were decent.

Jim Brown is a good one as well.

                          Does Arnold Schwarzenegger count?

Yeah. I remember the guys on Monday night RAW mentioning that about 4 or 5 years ago when he was apart of "Nation of Domination".

I just did a quick check of JIm Brown on imdb.com and he is listed in 54 appearances. Some of them are cheesy TV stuff but he was one of The Dirty Dozen so that is some serious cred right there.

                                          All seem good.

No one else was ever big at all. OJ? His roles were always a joke. Hogan, same. Boz? LMAO. I guess if the quality of the entertainment doesn't matter, Jim Brown would have to be number one followed by OJ maybe.

Fred Dryer. He played DE for 13 years in the NFL for the LA Rams. He was the star of the long running cop show Hunter in the 1980's.

Also Mark Harmon was a good QB at UCLA in 1972 and 1973 and won a national championship there. He's been in a ton of shows and movies, I think he's on the show NCIS now.
