I can barely breathe outside, the air is so thick with smoke. Very ashy and smoky even miles away from the fire.

Hell on earth for people with bad lungs, asthma, etc. Lots of people without homes losing all of their personal goods and keepsakes.

In defense of the "deserve it" comment. Californians are reaping what they have sewn. They prohibit any kind of logging or brush clearing and then put out small fires quickly. Eventually you have a 2 ft think tinder bed, its going to burn like a mother ****er. If Californians were intelligent they would do controlled burns like we've been doing for years. Its incredibly rare that we ever have an uncontrolled prairie fire anymore. Alas, the silly Californians are two concerned about killing the endangered white and blue stripped racing tit mouse. What you are seeing in California is a man-made unnatural cycle of super fires because natural smaller fires are not allowed to burn, and the people have replaced common sense with rabid conservation.
