Do Former Catchers Make The Best Managers?
Saw the Marlins hired Jim Redmond yesterday. Made me think of other successful managers that were catchers. Bochy, Leyland, Scoiscia, etc. Seems to me they are the best candidates just for the fact that catchers are used to running the game on the field.

I don't know if you can sat the best but they certainly do understand what is going on.

    Google the list .

    It is impressive.

I think so. Think about it... Of all the positions in M.L.B which positon would it make the most sense for a player to move on as a Manager when theyre done playing? The position that calls the game with the Manager from start to finish. The Catcher.

You have hitting and pitching coaches but the guy you want to call the game is the Catcher

I believe it is Mike Redmond as the manager. Could be the case though. That's a good list of managers.

Catchers always get preference to be hired as managers. Nothing new here.
