This guy dexter seems to have a lot of knowledge. But "Picking winners is only a small piece of the puzzle" statement is just fukking stupid. Obviously there are many other factors in being a good handicapper. But it all starts with picking winners. C'mon man.

What was more important? getting Lakers -6.5 versus Indiana the other night? Or getting them at -7? Or -8? or -9? or -9.5 where they closed? Or them actually losing the game straight up? What mattered most?

Had you picked the 'winner' you would have picked indiana and would have covered regardless of the number, the only thing that could possibly be debated is if you bet Indiana on the ML and took them at +260 versus +360. or anywhere in between.
