CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- Boston College guard Tyrese Rice was suspended for the first three games of the season because of a violation of team rules, the school announced Friday.
Rice, an All-ACC preseason first-team selection, will sit out the team's season opener against Central Connecticut State on Friday, and then miss the Eagles' first two games of the NIT Season Tip-Off.
The senior will return to action at Saint Louis on November 22.
Last season, Rice averaged 21.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 30 games.
