mine would be that houston/buffalo playoff game.

oh, you know the one where houston blew a 35 point lead, and lost to Buffalo and there second string QB named Frank Riech.

what NFL game will you always remember? Which one did you see in the stands, or on the TV, that most exemplifies why you love this game?"

The Super Bowl between San Fran and San Diego (don't ask me for the Roman Numerals). It put the cap on a very memorable winning streak for me. The 49ers with Steve Young were a spectacular offense - while the defense was just okay - and the oddsmakers never caught up to them.

I bet the 9ers and the over on every one of their games for the second half of the season (except for the last game - I think it was against Minnesota - where the 9ers had already clinched everything and they didn't play their starters) - and then I continued through the playoffs.

There were some big spreads and totals, but Rice and the boys scored at will. As I recall, that Super Bowl completed a 19-1 betting streak.

i have to go with the falcons/vikings NFC championship game. I am a fan of neither team, but the vikings seemed so unstoppable that year, going 15-1 and all. The game was in the metrodome, with that annoying viking horn, and when the vikings missed that field goal in OT, after i think not missing one all game, it was amazing. Just a great root for the underdog story. This is in hindsight, b/c i did bet the vikings in that game, and certainly can only appreciate it after a couple of years.

Two classic games that I will never forget. I know a few Raiders fans who will never forget that tuck rule game. The Raiders got jobbed in that one.

I have to throw another vote in for the Music City Miracle, primarily because I was already counting my winnings when it all went horribly wrong and that Titan (Dyson?) ran it back for the TD...

As a Patriots fan, several will always remain. The 1976 playoff game in Oakland. Talk about getting screwed!

Roughing the passer penalty on Ray Hamilton by Ben Dreith on 3rd and 18 gives the Raiders a first down in the final minutes, and Stabler scores on a sneak a few minutes later for a 24-21 win. One of my first sports memories as a kid. Didn't know all the particulars of the game then, but what I took from the adults in the room was "we got robbed."

The 2002 Super Bowl on Adam Vinatieri's winning kick against St. Louis, and of course the earlier playoff game against the Raiders on the Tuck Play.

All of the above are memorable for me, except anything pre-1982, you oldsters! haha

I'll also add the Chargers-Steelers 1994-95 AFC championship game in which the Chargers advanced to lose to the 49ers in the Super Bowl. I felt the Steelers got robbed by the refs 3 different times during that game. I actually hated the Steelers at the time, but such an injustice was served that day that I openly boycotted watching the Super Bowl that year. I'm sure the NFL missed their #1 fan during the Super Bowl and subsequently instituted a more rigorous refereeing policy that included instant replay, eventually. You can thank slacker for that one. I guess I've gotta get on the NFL again after last season, eh?
