#71Ok -- this just makes me want Notre Dame to go undefeated even more -- and then get shut out of the BCS Championship game. The heads of Irish fans will explode. Which is what you get for your blind support of the BCS over the years. This will be fun. And keep thinking your schedule is better than Kansas State and Alabama....... that is funny.Comment -

#72Damn right our heads will explode. EVERYONE said Notre Dame had one of the hardest schedules in college football coming into the year. I didn't dream they could run the table all season, let alone to this point, yet they have. And if they go undefeated they should be #2 in the country. I personally don't think the big ten is that bad this year, I think the historically lower-class members have semi-respectable football teams, that make the top look watered down. Miss St was #11 in the country, they looked no better than Michigan did against Bama.Originally posted by mtneer1212Ok -- this just makes me want Notre Dame to go undefeated even more -- and then get shut out of the BCS Championship game. You said so far. That was the main point. Don't even want to get into the better/more headache inducing question of the whole season, but so far

#78First off, we are not talking about who should be #1 at the end of the season, but who should be #1 currently. So dont grasp for straws because the teams notre dame are about to play do not go into their bcs rankings this week. Thus far nd has played a harder schedule as proved by my link. Your link tells us what we already know, that nd's schedule is not that toughest like predicted in the preseason. So what? Its still harder than bama and ksu as proved by my link. Please try again.Originally posted by mtneer1212Pitt, Wake Forest and Boston College next three weeks. I'm sure this will help your argument. Apparently, I'm not alone:

#792. Stop scheduling the MAC. The Big East lost four games to the MAC this season, and two of them cost teams undefeated seasons (Cincinnati, Rutgers). Let us not forget that Temple joined the Big East from the MAC last season and was unable to even compete with the Scarlet Knights in the second half last week. The win for Kent State was probably the biggest in school history -- it was the program's first victory over a ranked team. The Flashes had gone 0-22 in games against Top 25 teams before Saturday. Ball State and Western Michigan also pulled upsets earlier this year. And by the way, the MAC has 16 nonconference wins to set a new league record.
3. Louisville doesn't make things easy. There is a reason folks in Louisville are starting to call 'em the Cardiac Cards. Louisville does not like to make things easy on itself. For the second straight game -- and third time in four games -- the Cardinals needed a fourth-quarter comeback to win. For the fourth straight game, they had to overcome a second-half deficit. Coach Charlie Strong praised his group for its resiliency, but the truth is it has been quite a while since Louisville has put together a complete game. In addition to all these recent comebacks, they trailed FIU in the first half and needed to withstand a ridiculous fourth-quarter comeback from North Carolina. Still, the path is pretty clear to being undefeated in the regular-season finale against Rutgers. Of course, we all thought the path was clear for Rutgers to go 9-0 before playing Cincinnati in a few weeks.Comment -

#81Thing about Notre Dame schedule that is specifically great other than the overall strength and lack of 3 or 4 directional schools on it is that is that two of the best teams to expose their weaknesses are on it in Oklahoma and USC. Both away. Obviously, you can't play everybody, and some years we get BCS contenders that play nobody, but for ND to have to play these schools is a uniquely great test.
Oregon is a beast of a team and better than SC, but as an ND fan, I would rather match up against their offense than USC's.Comment -

#97not really sure what that site tells me. Im just saying that up to this week nd has played the tougher schedule, which i think can be proven. I think they should be #1 (but should be taken with a grain of salt since im a homer). But i think the facts point to nd playing the hardest schedule of the top 4 8-0 teams to this point in time.Originally posted by ChalkyDogI am sure this will be the last time I ever say this - but thank god for humans.
