looks like the gop is going to attempt to stop the three stooges (GM-Ford-Chrysler) from getting an early xmas treat!!!

Say NO to bailouts period. This will teach everyone a lesson on how to be a successful business. Will you imagine if Bill Gates asks for a bailout for Microsoft? Not happening.

US automakers had plenty of time to build better, more fuel efficient cars. Screw them on a bailout--they'll just have their hands out in another 6 months.

          PS Buy Hyundai

please remember the gop tried to stop the bailout to the banks, apparently the pubilc outcry was 18-1 AGAINST a bailout.

but those on capital hill are infintely smarter than the average person as we all know (or on the take).

truly hope they block it this time.

I don't think a bailout will do much good in the long term...but my guess is they will do it anyways.

If the big 3 die, will Nascar follow? seems logical, but like corporate retreats im sure they'll get the money from somewhere

But don't our automakers do well in other countries where there aren't as many governmental restrictions?

Are GMs so bad that they don't even last two years? All the Buicks, the best-selling brand of 2006, have now disappeared from the road? That is pretty remarkable.

Chrysler’s vehicle sales outside of North America increased by 7 percent in March, compared to the same month last year, the company announced on Tuesday. The U.S.-based automaker shipped 24,032 vehicles under its three brands last month, posting record sales in Russia and China.

The boost rounded off a first quarter that saw international sales grow by 9 percent, with Russia accounting for sales 94 percent higher than last year, at 2,139. The Chinese bought more than twice the amount of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles than in 2007, amounting to 4,839. A Sebring built in China boosted those sales by 1,000. Perhaps the ailing car will do better in China than it has Stateside, as the new car standards are lower in China’s emerging car culture.
In total, Chrysler sold 57,346 vehicles in Q1 of 2008, with 22,699 Jeep sales, 17,371 Dodges and 17,276 Chryslers outside of North America.
