today i could have gone 3-0 with NCState +7.5 if not for an unnecessary fluke 2 point conversion with 13 seconds left

Couple different things could have happened there. If you were drunk as Hell you might not have counted your chips right. Cashier could have got you for 5K. Either way you HAVE to ask to see security tapes. That's 5K. I don't need to tell you but they could have looked at the video, counted your chips, followed you straight to the cashier and seen exactly when you dropped the chip.Either way you turned 5 into 40K. That's huge, man.

I think he said it was 45K he cashed but yes that is huge and i'd say thank the effects of alcohol for the allowing your loose/aggressive bets required to turn 5k into 50K at a blackjack table.

I just figured 5K to 45K usually people means they are counting what they brought to the table but maybe not. Either way it's a huuuge come up.

When i first got into betting in High school, i was happy to get a 100% bonus from intertops giving me a $40 bank roll.
The bank roll went down steadily. lol
A friend of mine, built up a bank roll of $1500 off of a similar amount, $40 or so.
He was ready to cash out, but didn't know how so he tried to contact support. But he had to wait a few days for the response because it was the weekend.
in the meantime, he saw Real Madrid playing a shit team and heavy fav of 1.05 odds. Thought making a nice $75 would be nice and ... $1500 bet at 1.05 .. sure enough, it was a draw.
Support got back to him the following day... with a list of how to cash out.

I have a buddy and Im a little worried about him. Guy got in way over his head and just signed over his vehicle and doesnt have a car now. Girfriend left him. He's trying to borrow money from everybody just to gamble. Its getting bad. I've watched this guy slowly but surely gamble his life away. Chicks gone, cars gone, moneys all gone, jobs about to be gone, family is freaking out. Its bad. I told him id take him to GA or do whatever i could for him but hes not interested. He lost about 30K and all he wants to do is win it back but its not gonna happen. I think hes on permatilt. Sad story especially because the guy is a friend but what can I do? I dont have control over anybody.
Anybody have any similar stories?
I've blown a lot more than 7k! Not quite 30k though!

Screw it I'll spill the beans - not like I know any of you fine folks. I've been on this roller coaster since my early graduate school days, not that long ago. I met my (ex now, future wife then) at some concert... I managed all the finances in the house - so - this would be were most expect a "After a bad beat I lost all our money, investments, sold the dogs, etc". Not so - dogs are looking at me right now, money is OK - but WOW the economy isn't helping much - My horror story starts when my wife at that time happen to open a bank statement and noticed some strange "things". Let's leave it at - money in, with no story behind it she knew of... I am an honest man and I know my mistake was just not telling her. I wasn't in trouble, always have had a good hold on it - but I kept it from her.
She tried to cope - but could not get over JUST the idea of what was going on. She could get over keeping it from her, but not the action itself. This lead to arguments that sound exactly like you'd imagine. "We are not LOSING" "THIS IS HELPING" "THIS IS FUN FOR ME" "I DON"T DO MUCH ELSE THAT COSTS $, WHY CAN'T I HAVE THIS?" I went to GA WITH her - but I did not belong - I went to Head Docs - they all agreed - it's a hobby - one guy compared it to skydiving. It's only dangerous if you aren't prepared and skip steps.
No dice myS BR friends - she simply could not get over the stigma of it - or so she said. Divorce asked for 2 months after the big outing - paperwork done as quick as my lawyer would allow her's to rush it and then - she left everything behind.
It still stings - but it became very clear that something else was going on a few days ago.
She kindly called 4 days ago to let me know she was getting married again - 35 days after ours was final. Sometimes things do turn out like they do in the movies...
Should I feel guilty about my recreational hobby? OR Just for not informing her how paid for vacations, had nice presents for cousins and nephews, parents etc......
BAH - that's is enough of that nonsense - first thread I've seen like this since I've been around these parts -

Sounds like Daddy's Girl-Martha Stewart, Jr. had a little overlap going on if she was ready to get married quite so soon.
Have an even better second part of your life than she has.

Yeah, you are probably right - I just choose not to think about the "overlap" Man- you hit it right on the head though RE: "Daddy's Girl-Martha Stewart, Jr." There still isn't a week that goes by where I don't ask myself - WTF were you doing marrying the most "walk the line" person you've ever met!? That fact that she was an RA in college should have been red flag... oh well - live and learn!
