LeBron Aims To Leave As 'Best of All-Time'??
"I want to be the best of all-time," James said in an interview with The Associated Press. "It's that simple."

He enters the season 47th all-time in scoring, with a chance to move up to around No. 30 if he posts average-for-him numbers over the next 82 games. Among active players, he's ninth in scoring, and each of the eight names above him on that list have completed at least 14 NBA seasons. James has completed nine.

    Thoughts?

He will go down as a top 4 player in NBA history when it's all said and done imo

I'm still LOL at the ppl on this site that said Lebron James will never win a ring

    It's mind boggling. really.

a person like him has to say that.. or people will attack him for not being aggressive enough, or lacking the mentality..
i am sure once you win one .. you get a buzz that you want to hit eternally..

i think he was just doing his homework by saying so.. it is almost pre-emptive on his part to avoid
      criticism later.

but same goes for any guy who led his team, won one,
and won the League MVP, and the Finals MVP awards (same yr. not necessary)

basically right now that is him and Kobe. Durant will follow

Lebron has to win 16 Championships and 22 MVP's...He has to be an 8 time olympian gold medalist in basketball and win 2 golds in swimming breaststroke to be considered the best of all time....that is according to some on this site.

Stats? Has the shot at the best every.
        Rings? probably not.
And those are the only 2 things that matter to most people. And if he happens to get more Rings than Jordan, those same people will find a new thing to say...Probably Killer mentality...Even if he gets 10 Rings, they'll still say he didn't have the Killer Mentality that Jordan or Kobe had, so they are better.

Good for him though, it's a good thing to strive for. But there will always be naysayers.

I don't know if his accomplishments will ever undo the massive public image hit that he took by being a horses ass. Stats wise he may go down as the best ever, but will anyone care?

Just get on basketball's Mount Rushmore. that doesn't seem to be out of his reach. MJ, Kareem, Big O, and Wilt. Make room for Lebron.

he'll most likely finish as a top 5 no doubt

but because of his orchestrated move to Miami always casting a shadow. He'll never been like a Michael, Larry, or Magic that did it with the original team that drafted him and organically had a team of great stars help them win multi titles.

He'll never be known as a killer like those other guys

If he stayed in Cleveland & did what he's doing now he would have a chance. Doesn't matter what he does now, he'll never be recognized better than Mike. Any elite player can stack a team & win. He really would have only needed one or two chips in Cleveland + his current stats for another 5-6 yrs to be considered. Now he needs 7 chips in Miami + his current stats for 5-6 yrs to be considered. And even then alot of peeps still wont buy it. May not be fair but that's the way it is.

You have to win 4 games to advance, not 3.
