    2 massive winning fight plays!
    Boxing
    Heavyweights

    24th Nov 2012

Francois Botha +180 (v. Sonny Bill Williams)

Botha may be old and washed up (has lost last 3 fights) however he is and always has been a PROFESSIONAL boxer. The man's resume includes

    Lewis
    Holyfield
    Tyson
    Moorer
    Klistchko

Sonny Bill Williams is a big strong young Rugby player from New Zealand. He has 5 fights for 5 wins. Sounds good right? Sonny Bill is a brawler who doesn't have a clue about the sweet science of boxing. The 5 men he fought are a collection of Bouncers, brawlers and no-body's with 2 of the opponents making thier pro debut against him. Sonny Bill has never been hit as hard as Botha hits and has never boxed a man with Botha's experience and knowledge.

Yeah but mate this isn't about Fatty Botha, it's Sonny Bills massive step up in class and the ridiculous odds the books have posted. Never IMO do the books make bigger error's than on fight lines (particularly boxing)

First sounded interesting, would have considered tailing if not for the second pick. Betting Cung Le is burning money, in my opinion. Franklin is bigger, faster, stronger, has better cardio, and can control the pace of the fight however he wises. He's also arguably a better technical MMA striker than Le.

Curious as to where you see Botha at +180. Most books have this around pk.

Excuse me for being a lifelong boxing fan you piece of shit. I am 33 and I have followed boxing my whole life. I have trained for 3 years as well and have a strong appreciation an understanding of the sport. Now run along and go play in the traffic. Imbecile.

Botha came out at +180 and would have been around that price at every book taking action. Obviously many others have recognized the ridiculous odds the books put out and pounded Botha's price in. Betting is actually suspended at the 3 books I have just checked for a price update. Not sure why?

Mate look in the 'big bet's section of Sportingbet. You will see a 2K wager on Botha. Ring them and ask what price he got that bet at or just ask them what price they opened the market at and they will tell you $2.80 (+180). You lads should have acted faster if you were interested...

SBW just fukked his shoulder playing rugby in Japan.

He reckons he will be right to fight but I imagine that is why the market is suspended.

Cung le is straight up admitting prefight that he's too injured and is doing dana a favour.

Can't tell whether it's classier to make excuses before the fight or after.

Hawley thanks heaps for the info mate, i was wondering what is going on with the fight, cheers.

As for the Cung Le haters, and why there are always so many i do not understand? Anyway, you should remember that in his last fight he was also a massive dog and look what happened to Cote.

When I posted this thread i was attacked like you would not believe and yes my reaction when he won the fight was very immature (as pointed out by my good mate Hawley). The thing was I could not believe the abuse I copped for daring to suggest Le could beat Cote? After all isn't the point of posting picks to each other win money??

Yes Franklin is a legend of the game with a far more immpressive resume than Le, and the odds represent that, however I believe the books have gone to far and their is definite value on Le at the odds I posted. No I am not some Le homer, however I watched many of his fights outside MMA (kickboxing and sanshou) and understand than most the amazing skill this man possesses as a fighter. Yes he is old, his chin is suspect and Franklin is bigger, faster and has better cardio. Le however is an exceptional technical striker, a better wrestler and believe it or not is probably as strong as or stronger than franklin. Yes I just said that, go watch some of his old Sanshou fights on youtube and watch him throw clowns around like they are rag dolls.

All I am saying is that at the current odds there is nice value on Le.

                                    Good luck to all...

Just out of curiosity, who do you think would won a fight between Manny Pacman and Mayweather, had it happened a year ago?

Of course the correct answer to that question is Mayweather, he would technically pick Manny apart and win via decision in another standard boring defensive fight. Personally I'm massive Pacman fan and hold onto the belief that Manny would blast the fukc out of him with his power and un-orthodox style. Cheers.

Where has he a said that? I've no paid any attention to this fight, I noticed he was on Helwani's show other day so maybe he said something on there? But from what I saw in photos from his training he looked like he was in best shape I've ever seen him this far out from a fight (though this doesn't mean he doesn't have injuries necessarily).

Wow thanks for the news, I must say this throws a serious spanner in the works. Le's main weapon is obviously his arsenal of un-orthodox kicks and no doubt a fighter with Franklin's IQ will be stomping the fukc out of his feet. I rarely get caught out as I do a lot of research but I've had my pants pulled down here as I thought Le was fully healed from the Cote injury...
