As a lifetime Cane fan I really watch myself when I wager on them. I have wagered on them 5 times this year and am 4-1 and they dominated North Carolina until the last 9 minutes.

That being said I will not bet on this one. If I was I would take the Canes. Everyone likes Tech coming off last Thursday night...remember that was at home. They are almost unbeatable there on Thursday nights. Look at there road games against decent teams...I believe they have lost them all. They are very young. As is Miami.

The line is a little high for me to take my beloved Canes.

All the VT teams I have seen in the past get better and better as the year goes on. Frank Beamer has a way of getting the most out of what he has and knows how to use it. That being said, I watched the UNC/Miami game and lost money on Miami. I was not impressed the way they played at all. If Miami wins this game it won't be by more than 3. IMHO

VA Tech won at Nebraska which is much tougher than winning at Miami IMO, Miami still isn't a very good team and they are definately beatable at home

Yeah, that 3 game stretch there...when they beat Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Nebraska was pretty impressive. Last 2 being road wins for the Hokies.

Tech also lost 3 away BC,FSU,east carolina

North Carolina had them beat until starting qb went down

But tech lost there qb's at fsu

You guys are right Miami has not looked impressive but this team is young....therefore who knows what you might get from them

This is the ACC....crazy every week

Tough game to figure....think it will be close though

O line major weakness already for Canes.

Look for the more mobile qb Harris to get in the game early

Cane- those 3 road losses were against teams that play good at home.

ECU 4-1 at home
FSU 5-1 at home
BC 4-2 at home

Miami at home is 3-2. I'm hoping the Hokies get motivated for this game. They should be.

Stayed away from this one as well. I figured this would be a pick 'em, if not Va tech slightly favored. On a side note GO CANEZ!!!

On VA Tech +4.5 here also... concerns me a little bit that 65% of the public is on V Tech yet the line has gone from 4.0 to 4.5 since it opened... hate reverse line movement... any thoughts?

Korbs- people are just going with Hurricane momentum. The 'Canes are on a 4 game win streak and playing at home. The Hokies have lost 2 of their last 3.(both on the road)

The thing to watch is the ML. I grabbed it last night @ +183. Right now it sits at +173. Looks like some plays are coming in on Va Tech ML.

I never pay attention to small line moves. Every time I have bet just on a .5pt to 1pt line move, I lost. I think the books know we watch line moves also. Seems to me that books moved this line to swing the thinking that the Canes will cover, if it were a 2pt or higher swing then maybe. IMHO

Miami has been a lousy favorite at 0-6 ATS as a favorite of 3.5 to 10 points over the last 3 seasons, losing by 10.5 ppg in these spots. The Hokies meanwhile have been a sensational underdog at 15-6 ATS as an underdog of 3.5 to 10 points under coach Beamer. Another thing we can always count on is VA Tech playing its best football in November and that has translated into the Hokies being a great bet in this month at 8-1 ATS in November games over the last 3 seasons. Miami is just 1-3 ATS at home this season and in my opinion the odds makers have given the Canes too much name recognition once again.

I thought both ML had value, so I took a flyer on them.

Shannon is starting to turn things around at the U, but they just aren't there yet this year. I think VTech gets at least 1 DEF TD, and a couple rushing ones.....not sure they'll need more than that.
