MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) -New York officials say 12 men have been arrested in connection with a $30 million sports betting operation.

Authorities say the operation in New York handled bets on college and professional football. The alleged ringleaders are brothers.

Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice and Police Commissioner Lawrence Mulvey plan to discuss details of the case on Wednesday.

You would be surprised how big some of these operations are. I've heard of books that had agents scattered all across the United States

its the same w/ drug busts..they say 30 mil...it means thats what it could have potentially been worth over a period of time...no chance you can bury that much cash and get away w/ it for any period of time

Yeah I'm wondering what that dollar total actually represents. Total action taken? I mean, if its been in business for over 3 years and the 30M is total action taken in that period, it becomes less impressive.
