Heritage likely has over 10,000 accounts active this week. If one of them thought they were a victim, you would hear about it here.

A lot of our threads in Players Talk are in jest. JJ is one of the best at the National Enquirer material and getting the crowd riled up. We made it to page 3 with this one and some players are starting to be concerned so we'll summarize a few things...

1st, Brock was being played with and didn't lose $ to a thief. No one tried to actually funnel money out. 2nd, Brock used a password at Heritage that wasn't unique to his Heritage account. Every year we warn players not to do this. There are a bunch of easy ways for people to get passwords. We have seen players use their SBR username, that is posted every day, as their sportsbook password and complain because their sportsbook account was "hacked". Someone with basic html knowledge could create a page in a few minutes to look like SBRforum or Heritage homepage or Hotmail and link you to it for you to attempt log in. Ebay scammers do this all the time. If you don't look at the URL you might just type the pw in. The links on the page actually go to the real site so you might never know you were at a fraud website. As soon as you try your PW they have it.

I can go on and on with scenarios where a password can be gained without a real computer hacking technique. I don't want to make an example of Brock but if your password for a financial institution is the same as your words with friends, it puts you in a high risk category. Your pw MUST be unique. Don't choose your favorite player or team that you've posted about and add a digit after it and then think you are safe. Don't tell us what book you play at and your pet's name that is also your sportsbook password.

I'll add that SBRforum guards your SBRforum information. We've never even sold a mailing list in 8 years and never will. That said, a site you log into 3 times a day and save the PW in your browser should not be the same as your https:// secure Paypal site. It's no coincidence BofA guards your PW with a 5 step verification and 3 minute timeout while Facebook lets you stay logged in.

I would guess a screen shot posted on or off site that neglected to cover up the acct number one time. could have been years ago, when Brock was a few white russians deep and was proving something to a guy he thought was a friend on email.
