Brandon Marshall, a member of the Broncos at the time (right before Obama was elected) tried to make a controversial celebration (using a glove as a 'prop' much like when Tommie Smith and John Carlos raised there fists for black power after getting medals in the 1968 olympics). Brandon Marshall later played for the Miami Dolphins.
Now, John Elway, a head figure in the Broncos franchise is a key supporter of the republican party.

Both Miami as well as Denver are large economical centers in the United states. Also, both teams are in the AFC and have won SuperBowls. Furthermore, both of these teams have had Hall of Fame quarterbacks including but not limitied to John Elway and Dan Marino. In addition, both teams nowadays are teams that have a great deal of talent, however have been somehat struggling.

Ok Lou, give my girl some points for this answer. Mayweather has bet on both teams over the past 2 seasons.
And according to my friend, he will be fighting in 2013 but Pacman is a longshot still for opponent.

Both are running neck and neck in the seasonal standings (at 3-3) and could possibly "take charge" of their divisions with a possible upcoming victory and a defeat by their "running mates".

Both are running neck and neck (at 3-3) and one team is looking to dethrown the leader (New England) while the other team (Denver) is looking to "remain in office" and "repeat" as divisional champions

Lou: can we get another hint? I thought my answers were pretty good. Part of this is about the points but I really want to know what your answer is.

With public support, both the Dolphins and Broncos are in a virtual tie at the present time, and the future will determine which "team' is successful in obtaining the ultimate goal of supremacy between the two adversaries.

Okay another hint:
It has to do with a game each played on a certain date. Make the connection and be descriptive. Use my avatar for a clue.

Lou, I think u need to be more specific. Nobody will get this. Are you referring to Romney or the election? Is it games or a single game?

Both "Miami Dolphins" and "Denver Broncos" have 13 total letters and the Nov 6 2012 Election will have 13 state and territorial governor's races. Cheers

I'll expand on this... the last time Miami played Denver was October 23rd 2011. Lou was watching the game... but he was secretly thinking about Romney. During the game he decided to make Mitt his avatar. Exactly 1 year and 1 day later he started this thread.

Another hint: Think of the election date when looking for the two games in question these teams played, make the connection, describe it from start to finish.

If Denver rushes for more than 106 yards in its fifth game of the season, the incumbent party wins. Otherwise, the out-of-power party wins. This rule has held for every election since the Denver Broncos' first season in 1960. This year the Broncos played the Patriots and Willis McGahee was the leading rusher with only 51 yards. This indicates a Romney win.
If the New York Jets win their second away game, the Republican wins the White House. Otherwise, the Democrat wins. The Jets beat the Dolphins in overtime on Sept. 23. This indicates a Romney win.

On November 6, 1966 Miami gave up a safety on a blocked punt for the last score of the game losing to the Buffalo Bills 29-0. On November 6, 1988 Denver gave up a safety to the Kansas City Chiefs for the first score of the game when Tony Dorsett was tackled in the end zone but the Broncos still prevailed 17-11.
