but plommer, you should be more careful here.. 3 star is dangerous in cuba.. man, why not put in just another 40 bucks.. (what's 40 bucks) and you get a 4 star now.. plommer, 4 star and 3 star is a big difference.. you get better room, better service, and most important, better food..and all this for less than 6 bucks a day.. you don't think this is worth it?

Nicky, I've already stayed at every hotel in Santa Lucia, it's not about the money, it's about the staff at the hotels, I like Mayanabo best because of how I'm treated, the staff all know/remember me and service is top-notch. There isn't any difference between a Cuban 3 or 4 star as far as I'm concerned.

Plus, I only "sleep" in the room, I don't hang out in the hotel, I'm usually on the hunt on my rented motorbike.

Nicky, I don't doubt you get better lines/prices than me most days, my strength is finding travel deals, and they aren't hard to find.

I obviously like the cheap deals as it allows me to make more trips.
I'll probably take 3 vacations to the carribean or South America this winter.

I'm seriously looking at a trip to Quito, Equador in the new year, with a short stay in Bogota Colombia. That trip won't be cheap.

There are girls everywhere, plus I have local contacts that take me to "Las Tunas" , not a resort city and has lots of available girls, they have also changed the rules so that you can bring your novia into your hotel, she must register and show her carnet and you pay the hotel a fee but its now allowed, I have a regular 20 yr old girl who will stay with me.

Nicky, the price is all-in including taxes, meals, flight and hotel. The only thing not covered is extras such as sightseeing or clubs/girls and a $25 "exit tax" charged at the airport when you leave.

Food is so-so, sometimes terrible and sometimes good, depending on what it is, I've been disappointed with the beef they offer but impressed with the fresh fish.

Lots of girls available, maybe not at first glance, but as an experienced traveller to Cuba I've never been disappointed.

Thats what they HAVE to say in order to keep the cops/government off their back, but in reality everything in Cuba is illegal, money seemed to be the solution to any resistance I encountered.

Plus I've made friends with a few locals, including one guy who speaks excellent English, costs me a few bucks but I get almost whatever I want, I always bring little gifts (baseball hats, razor blades/after shave/) for my Cuban buddies, they make the path to what I want much easier to navigate.

I also bring brand -new (ie cheap) running shoes from Wal-mart and have my English speaking buddy sell them at a profit, he takes a cut and is very happy, and I get some extra cash for my entertainment, the Cubans are happy with the shoes as they are better quality (if you can imagine that) than whats mostly available to them in the local tiendas.
