NASA has been given unlimited funds, for all intents and purposes. The problem is only half the news on the subject is ever noticed. We shut down NASA's moon exploration division. Instead reallocating those resources to a manned trip to mars. That is the current space race, and both Russia and USA are the competitors again. It is going to be awesome, and I imagine within the decade the trip will begin.

NASA has a ton of funds, which was started by G.W.Bush making the mars exploration project official.

The Olympics were a success on the backs of the US taxpayer, more taxpayer money went into that Olympics than ever before. Most states have a balanced budget amendment, not sure if Mass is one.
