So big ben punted on 4th down. Do you have to punt right after the snap? Can he look for a open receiver for say 2-5 seconds and then punt it?

I think a couple years ago tom brady punted a extra kick and then got credit for 1 point. Can you punt a FG from any distance. Thanks.

u can drop kick it like flutie did a few years back, and no u dont have to punt it right away

the ball actually bounces off the ground

Nvm on 2nd part. You can drop kick fg's but not punt them. Hmm coulda swore a couple years ago i heard a 2pt conversion was going on and the qb just punted it through uprights for a XP

the drop kick has to hit the ground. flutie did it his last game i think, dont recall anyone else ever doing it in the modern era, was kinda joke in a meaningless game when he pulled it off.

the problem with waiting is getting too many men downfield....i think you can only have 2 gunners leave the los when you punt
