I would still have confidence in the Cards winning even if they fell behind early like 5-0.
My major points were his homefield dominance, like 2.05 ERA for the season, vs Lohse 3.41 on the road. Also Cain has pitched well enough in the post season, his problem has not been giving up too many hits or walks, but instead giving up too many HR's, something which he is 2x less likely to do at home, I am hoping for 3-2 SF.

My bigger bet in baseball is actually on Det to win the next series.

Cain was on a tear the last 2-3 months of the regular season. Last 10 starts, he was 6-0 allowing 0 to 2 runs in 9 out of 10 starts, only once allowing more than 2 runs vs the Cubs in a game SF won.

What is troubling is his postseason performance. He has given up 3 ER in each start going between 5-7 innings each outing. I am still on SF because he has pitched very well even in defeat.

Cains problem in the postseason has not been allowing too many hits or walks, it is giving up homers in the "bad inning", having allowed 4 HR in 3 games. Two of the three games were on the road where he is much more HR prone, 2x more likely. He has allowed 7 HR in 15 outings at home, significantly less than the 14 he allowed on the road. I am actually bet .5unit now, but I am hoping to get below 140 tomorrow for another .5-1u.
Really? Have you watched the games? I just don't think he's looked good whatsoever.

Lohse has gone 2-0 with a 1.97 plus he won the wildcard game to get them in. Lohse has been OUTSTANDING. Cain has been giving up bombs every game. On top of that you get the Cards at +130? Seems like a no brainer. I'm hedging out on a future when I took the Giants down 3-1 so I don't really care who wins. Cards just make sense.

Also Lohse's results were much better than how he pitched 5 days ago vs SF, he allowed 5 bb and 7 hits in 5 2/3. Cain was razor sharp most of the way, but had a bad inning, overall he pitched better as far as hits and walks, 6 hits 1 bb in 6 innings. Both of these pitchers are much more effective at home, so I think the outcome is much different in SF, where Cain is much better giving up 1/2 the HRs as on the road, and Lohse is generally much worse otr.

Home field has proven to be no advantage in the playoffs. Not sure I like your angle. How many games has SF lost at home now?

You got it. Didn't bet SF in the first 2 games and bet them all 3 in Cincy at + money. Big money come up

I will take the larger sample size of the entire season over just the small number of playoff games, as it is much more indicative of future performance when making this evaluation.

Cain on his home mound in a park of familar weather, lighting, and dimensions(SF) vs Lohse when he plays otr in foreign terriory(SF). This situation occurred all season long and the divergence in results in H vs A performance is very sharp and obvious for both pitchers. I like using the entire season to increase the sample size adding statisitical significance and thus give my projections for this game more meaninful value.

If Cain avoids the bad inning and brings the same stuff he had last outing, St Louis scores 1-2 runs on him.

Definitely showed signs of life tonight, I was questioning their bats, which aren't as strong as St Louis'. But tomorrow should be a pitcher's duel, like the last 7 innings were tonight (2 runs total), once Carp found his rythm. Cain soo much sharper and less likely to give up the HR/big inning at home.

I honestly hope they both pitch similarly to the last game, 12 BB+hits in 5 2/3 for Lohse vs 7 hit +bb for Cain in 6 innings. If history tells us anything it is Cain is much less likely to give up homers at home, and Lohse usually gives up one run more on the road per game, and +.015-.020 on base %.

I was in SF years ago when the Dodgers clinched the West. It was the best feeling watching my team celebrate on the field. Baseball is one of those sports that a team of triple A players can make it to the World Series. Marco Scutaro MVP? R u kidding me? Pablo, Belt, Crawford, Pagan??? Wtf, I don't wanna see these fags in the Series. Now the Tigers r a real team. Hope they sweep these fags.
