High School player kicks a 67 yard field goal (video inside)
This kid must have hit at least some 60 yarders in practice or his coach never would have even tried it.

Watch out Sebastian Janikowski and Greg Zeurlein. You've got company in the unlikely form of a high school senior in Washington state. As reported by the Seattle Times and a variety of other outlets - and brought to Prep Rally's attention by Beer Mug Sports, Spokane (Wash.) Central Valley High kicker Austin Rehkow set a new state record by connecting on a 67-yard field goal during his team's Thursday night, 62-55 victory against rival Spokane (Wash.) Shadle Park. Before the kick, this guy doesnt even have a Division 1 scholarship offer, well that will change now!

Now sure high school does use a tee on field goals, but this was a damn good kick

What makes it so crazy is that the nfl record is 63 yards.

How far would Janikowski boot one with a tee?

HS does use a tee which is a 2" black block and I don't see it. It is easier to kick the ball further off the ground once you make the adjustment. What's more amazing is that kick went further then 67 because he kicked it from the hash mark. HS hash marks are wider then college marks which are wider then NFL marks. HS marks are the widest.

                    NFL kickers too good now

87% fg conversion rate this yr

Actually talk that in the near future they will do away with the xtra pt and teams will have to go for 2 pt conversion attempts after tds

He is using a tee, impressive nonetheless.

People think booming FGs makes you an NFL kicker. It's like golf. A lot of people are awesome at the range.

There is only 1 per roster and most of them have 10+ year careers. Probably hardest position to make it into the NFL as

Ya I used one too and even the 1" tee would be very visible and I don't see a tee. He does false start as he takes that first step before the snap but they usually let them get away with it.

The below video is John Lee who kicked for UCLA. He was the reason why they took the tee away for college but you can clearly see it on the field.

considering the k/o is from the 30 and he probably routinely boots it out of the end of the end zone i'd guess 75-80 yards

I always debated for FG's to only count 1 1/2 points, and then only if they are inside the 25 yd. line, or closer.
If beyond the 25 and inside the 50, make them only 1 point. Beyond the 50, only 1/2 point.
You would have some wild and crazy final scores.
                                          Like GB 32 1/2 , Tampa 30 1/2.

The kick is relying on one simple foot, and that's too much influence on the outcome of a football game. Back to basic football.
