He's got his own players in there now and is flat out not getting it done. Is Ty Willingham > Charlie Weis? Charlie's best season was with Ty's players? He's still got 7 years left on his contract but I think ND is to the point where they need someone like Paul Johnson and an option oriented offense like Tech, Navy, Airforce, etc.
How much longer for Charlie Weis?

#2I think that is a stretch Seer. I think Weis has through 2009.
I will say this. If he doesn't win 10 games with that weak schedule he has next year, he ought to be fired. Some reports have his 10 year deal having an 18 million dollar buyout in it. With Weis due 8.2 million if he is fired. ND is still paying off Willingham's 2.43 million owed him, I just can't imagine they would take on another buyout.
About the team.
The are goofy young. I just did a write up on them, get this one. They have scored 26 offensive touchdowns. 24 of those were scored by either a true frosh or soph. In their skill position two-deep....WR, WR, TE, RB, QB, FB, every single player is a freshman or soph. They are starting 3 true freshmen on offense right now....Floyd, Rudolph, and Robinson. On defense they have have 3 true freshmen starting too.....Ethan Johnson, Darius Fleming, and Steve Filer. They lose just 2 players on defense.
Here is the really crazy thing about ND. They will have 20 of 22 starters returning next year, and in 2010, they will have 15 of the current starters returning. They are young.
Unrelated. Charlie Weis announced at today's press conference that he is resuming the play calling duties.Comment -

#3Martin, just posing the question to get some feedback fron ND people. I think he needs some more time too but there have to be a lot of impatient fans out there. I think NAvy gets em this weekend.Comment -

#4Seer,
Absolutely! Notre Dame fans are lunatics. They are impatient.
I would not be surprised if Navy beats them. That said, Navy is ranked 108th in pass defense, and with Weis calling the plays again, I think ND wins and covers easily.Comment -

#7Dont get me started on this fat fvck. I made a thread saturday about this after they laid a goose egg against Boston College...BOSTON COLLEGE!!! Offensive guru, my ass. This guy sucks balls. And if Notre Dame was smart, they would buy him out immediately. Look at Patriots last year...they go 16-0..no Weis. What does Notre Dame do? They have the worse season in school history....with Weis. This guy was a fraud. Everybody bought in to it...including me. He cant coach for sh!t...the sooner Notre Dame gets rid of him, the better.Comment
