1) Catching is very cerebral, involves managing batters, signs, pitchers, etc. No coincidence alot of former catchers are good managers. Watch a great catcher like Yadier Molina work the game, control the pitchers, manage and conceal signs. Or ask Larussa who his most valuable player on the Cards was, Molina.

It is well established blacks have lower cognitive ability. Any standardized test of intelligence(IQ SAT GMAT MCAT) or average GPA confirms this. When I attended U of Chicago, no black students were present in any of my honors math or science courses.

Catchers are alot like Noble Prize winners in physics, medicine, or chemistry, blacks are apparently not permitted. But unlike those Noble categories, I guess there have been more black catchers than zero.

If I were a manager I would also tend to place intelligent players in positions that allow them to make decisions. I would also place the less intelligent players in positions that allowed them to respond and react instinctively, rather than have to think much.
