two things
a) i've been hearing many yankee fans themselves saying that yanks won't be spending like they used to. And AntiFoil and I both figured out already that they will be going over the salary cap and paying 40% extra on every dollar they over-spend. They are in a tough financial situation to pay all their stars under contract, give arb raises, and aquire about 8-10 FA's. Add into that, unloading A-rod and maybe getting a team to pay 6-8 million of his contract. AND overpaying for a guy like Youk?????
b) Yanks farm system is nothing spectacular and many of their "studs" had very bad years. They might come into 2013 with a farm system ranking of near 20.Comment -
headley could and probably will be traded this off season, but as bad a FA is at every position, the padres can probably charge a premium for him. then even wait until mid season if they don't get the offer they are looking for.

I hate to tell you guys this but A-Rod is still an above average MLB player. True, he had his worst year but was hurt. And true, even being an above average MLB player, his salary is inflated but that's not his fault, that's the Yankees front office's fault. I think he'll be back with the Yankees next year and put up much better numbers. Guy is still extremely talented.Comment -
