Look at their recruits. Tons of 3* guys, for the most part (and then look at Oregon State's recruiting classes ranked in the 80's). Nothing like Alabama or USC. Even so:

They win 10+ games on national tv every year. Rose bowl or better every year.
Best facilities, including loud as hell stadium.
Best uniforms, good marketing team.
System that allows 2's and 3's to get a ton of snaps.
Aggressive coach who plays like most players want to play. What skill player yearns for run-run-slant pass-punt style offense that 90% of these dinosaur coaches cling to like it's their inhaler?
