I'm being politically incorrect here concerning late Cardinal Pat Tillman.
First off,the guy was 1 in a million as far as being physically fit and agile is concerned and he fit the perfect mold for the prototype ranger.I'm sure the armed services would kill to have a few hundred thousand clones of Tillman over the 300 pound single welfare mothers like that Shashana woman that got in the wreck with hyped hero 100 pound soaking wet Jessica Lynch. As you can see,I'm no big fan of affirmative action in the military. My motto is that if you are a 100 pound nerdy white guy wimp and you can't run a 8 minute mile or lift 40 pounds and the service doesn't want you the same should hold true for a woman of equal stature and ability.

Anyway, getting back to Tillman. The guy had toys in the attic big time!He was a senseless gung ho risk taker that used to climb the stadium light poles in college to meditate. His brother that gave the eulogy at Tillman's funeral was even a bigger loony tune screaming obsceneties at the funeral. The whole family seems offbeat. What guy would be dumb enough to turn down the good life with a big NFL contract and go and save some Muhamad's butt who treats women like dung and believes when he croaks he will finally get away from his wife and be with 72 virgins and a fair skinned boy.

Which brings me to Muhamad Ali.He's supposed to be the most recognized face in the world and the supreme muslim where their whole culture admires him.Have you once heard a peep of him trying to arbitrate peace settlements and to quelm terrorist acts by speaking out against them? Why is this fake admired so much by the media and politicians when all he is is a punch drunk enabler of a culture that makes women cover their heads and bodies in black sheets in 120 degree heat who have to walk 10 paces behind their husbands and can't drive a car.

I personally don't see anything questionable about Tillman going to fight in Afghanistan. I think he felt very strongly about what happened on 9/11 and wanted to do his part in the fight against al-qaeda and the Taliban who support and enable them. They had killed many of Tillman's compatriots and wanted (and still want) to kill more. Tillman could have taken a let someone else deal with it approach, but instead he stepped up.

(On a side note, regarding this: save some Muhamad's butt who treats women like dung. By supporting the removal of the Taliban, Tillman was contributing to a step forward for women's rights over there.)

Canada currently has "peacekeepers" in Afghanistan - and some have died which is a horrible tragedy - but I am not angry at our government over our policy there. Nor do I feel those peacekeepers as individuals are loony tunes for choosing to be involved. If we were talking about Iraq, that would be a different discussion. Whether Tillman made that distinction, I don't know.

In any case, I feel sure Tillman was sincerely standing up for his beliefs. The fact he sacrificed big bucks to do it is admirable from my point of view. So many people are willing to sell their principles in this day and age.
