Even if Beane can get a truckload of talent come July 31st, he gave up some pretty good talent to get Holliday. I don't understand it.

The Cardinals had a trade for Holiday but backed out. Too much talent to trade. Glad they backed out.

We won't really know how much talent the A's gave up for a season or two or three. Boras will help Beane engineer a trade & sign deal next July. Beane's one of the few GMs out there who isn't afraid of working with Boras.
