I've had zero issues with my new maps on the 5. Not one. It's a nice feature that I am able to listen to turn by turn through my speakers.

The browser issues are unique to iOS6. It's a known bug that other forums using the latest version of VBulletin are also plagued by. We submitted a bug report to Apple.

The best advice is to try using the Chrome browser on your device.
