Bush Rushes Last Minute Gambling Ban – SSIGI Responds
During the last days of a lame duck presidency, administration officials are working furiously to implement regulations to enforce an ambiguous, burdensome and unworkable ban on Internet Gambling.

Here is a release from today: Bush Administration Moves to Implement Burdensome and Unworkable Prohibition on Internet Gambling (http://www.safeandsecureig.org/media...egsrelease.pdf) We detail the inappropriate involvement of a NFL lobbyist turned political appointee in pushing the regulations despite the objections of leading financial service companies. Representatives of the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve are even on record saying the regulations are going to be difficult to enforce.

    Thanks.

Lets just hope that they can't hammer out anything before Obama takes office.

bunch of BS, with the exception of Pinnacle chickening out and pulling out voluntarily, and the Neteller BS, i've done nothing much differently since 1995.

Really not saying anything new, until they block all types of transactions not going to work, banks have long been blocking everything they think is a gambling transaction, sometimes even over-stepping their boundaries, Im for paying taxes, just regulate it, so stiff books and stiff customers can both be sued in a legitimate manner.

Mr. Sandman with all due respect, I'm just hoping that your HR 6870, a piece of legislation that throws online sports betting to the Federal wolves, doesn't go anywhere this year and you guys do not come up with similar legislation next year.

I am also hoping the UIGEA doesn't get finalized.

Please don't throw online sports betting under the bus.

              Wileout,

Any assumption that we don't want legalize online gambling sports is completely wrong. In fact, we will not stop fighting until Americans are free to gambling on sports, poker or any other game of interest. You can find out more about us on our website at www.safeandsecureig.org.

Thank you, and thanks for all of your support for this issue, we look forward to continuing working together for the cause.

I realize that you guys would like to legalize all forms of online gambling and I am appreciative of that; however, if it comes to the point that you have to compromise on legislation, I hope that you take a route that doesn't hurt online sports gambling anymore than it already has been or actually helps it.

HR 6870 seems to be anti-online sports gambling but maybe I am missing a bigger picture.
