Duke -36.5 should be easy coin tomorrow vs Presbyterian, gentlemen.

lol I'm starting off with a 36 point dog tommorow, Presb. returns 5 of out of their top 6 scorers from last year and brought in a 7'0 center out of nowhere apparently. Don't like betting against Duke in this spot, but I don't think they will cover

Presbyterian played extremely slow-tempo last year, that scares me some. I'd be more interested in the moneyline, if there is going to be one.

doubt they'll even put a ML on this 1. It'd be nice to get Prebs. up to +38 or so at tip off

I respectfully disagree sir. If you find value you play it.

I agree, everything is a coin flip. You never know how the ball bounces and you can't predict sht.

Still saying untruthful things about me because I voted for McCain uh, Pat. The election was last week so let it go like I did.

What are you capping this game at, BBD? I don't see value in Duke. In fact, I will probably be taking the points in this one.

Yeah first game of season, both teams are trying to work things out still... Ill take 36.5 points and take the Prebs.

Presb was one of the slowest-paced teams last year. If this game is played at a below-average pace it will be difficult for Duke to get enough possessions to be likely to win by this margin.

Coach K has class so might not try and run up score

Early season games are one of the few times where you can make a case for taking large favorites to cover against over-matched teams in my opinion. I'd be more comfortable with lines in the high 20s though for any of those types of chances. Still at home, chances are Duke crushes this team by 35-40 or more.

I see you typically don't pay attention to early dook games. They throttle teams like Presbyterian, NC A&T, & UNC-G 110-40 every year

Haha, looked it up, and 110-40 was a slight overstatement. dook still outscores their first oponent of the season by an average of 42/game over the past 4 years (50/game if you take out the paltry 17 point win against Boston U 3 years ago).
As for Presbyterian, they may bring back most of their top scorers, but those are the same guys who went a stout 5-25 last year. Their wins came against such basketball powers as Army, Allen, Montreat College, Radford, & the basketball powerhouse known as Carver Bible College. That said, they only lost by more than 36 once last year (87-43 at tOSU)

1stgame staying away 36.5 might be a little too much ... duke wins 84 -55 or something like that IMO

my model shows duke by -33 i see no edge here
1/i would take presb if the line was +42/higher
2/i would only take duke is line was -20 compared to my model line

Is Presbyterian a high school team?
I know Trinity College has played Canadian universities in the past.

Close but no cigar Danny Boy. 31 point win for the Dooks.
