I never understood the 1 unit rule...do people actually lay equal money on all their wagers? If I did I would be broke...my higher unit wagers clearely have a higher winning percentage compared to my everyday ones.

If this is true for you, maybe you should raise your unit value, and scrape your low unit wagers off your cards.

Actually I was hoping it would be housed at SBRcontests? The only way Matchbook would come in is that Nicky and I would bet 2K on each of ourselves there, essentially becoming Market Makers at +100 each.

The market can be made private between you and Nicky, LT. I believe once you two get your wagers matched by each other, they can open the market to the public for additional wagering. Or a separate market could be setup for public wagering.

I have never been involved in X-Bets before, so maybe you can clue me in.

Would the first step be to contact Matchbook and tell them we want to do this? Then, would they wait until each of us has sent in 2K before putting it up (which would be ideal in case Nicky backs down....I would then just use the 2K for normal betting)?

And thirdly, I assume they would take the bet down as soon as the contest begins, making it unpractical to start the contest immediately as no one would have time to get bets in after X-bet is made public?

There is a submission form for X-bets on the X-bet page, otherwise you call call them to set it up. You will probably need Nicky's username to make it private between the two of you. It works just like any other market on Matchbook. You make the offer for $2k at +100 and he would match it. If, for some reason, Nicky doesn't match it, you can withdraw your offer and wager the funds on other markets immediately. The person who makes the X-bet market is the one who grades it. You would probably need to keep it open for the entire timeframe of the contest, otherwise it would need to be graded shortly after the close and once you and Nicky have matched your bets, you should be able to move it to public for others to place/match offers.

Yeah. You will be charged commission, if you win. However, with your deposit, you should receive enough commission credits to cover the charge on the wager.
