Wow, another reason to like this "mutt." (What he lightly called himself in his first press conference as pres-elect - gotta love the self-deprecating sense of humor.)

I was channel-surfing the football games and heard the PennSt/Iowa announcers mention that Obama would like to see an 8-team college playoff.

I didn't know that. And now, I gotta believe that, living in Chicago where are a lot of locals, he likely has made a casual bet or two or three on football, hoops, whatever.

The Rapture people and their neocon pals don't seem to have a chance with this guy.

Well, of course, Dan, a president can't interfere in a private sports consortium, like the NCAA. He was just speaking as a sports fan. Basically saying what a lot of football fans have been saying for years.

Playoff??? We have been watching a playoff all season. It is great the way it is. It will work itself out. Look at the LSU and 'Bama game, Penn St./Iowa, Oklahoma St/Texas Tech. All of these games would lose meaning.

This is why I love college football....its one big playoff all year long!
