Obama is 'a deeply manipulative guy' with 'a slightly creepy cult of personality', he exhibited little substance during the debates, 'Saul Alinsky was a model'. This will be a change.
But they waited until the very end to get to the reason they were on the show. They wanted to use the power of the Newsweek brand to spread a little National Enquirer style dirt on Sarah Palin. They infer that Palin personally bought clothes with a donor's credit card.

No adoring wife, no cute kid -- he is the message.
THOMAS: There is a slightly creepy cult of personality about all of this.
ROSE: What’s ‘slightly creepy’ about it?
THOMAS: It just makes me a little uneasy that he’s so singular. He’s clearly managing his own spectacle. He knows how to do it. He’s a - I think, a deeply manipulative guy - you know, this could be a useful thing in a leader .
