#143True character is who you are and what you do when no one is watching.
You should have come clean before accepting money. Althoug you basically found $1,500 now you lost a good sports book and who knows what else may come. We value BI for their quick payouts and small book feel but mistakes like this will cause them to double check their procedures and services that we all are so appreciative of resulting in slowed payouts and increased procedures or policies. Is $1,500 worth your reputation, bad karma, and screwing over a good book. Send it back...maybe Jon will give you you a good bonus or take care of you at a later time when you may need it.Comment -

#159My friend once bought an iPad from Microcenter, it was the new one, but the cashier accidentally scanned the wrong product (ipad 2 which the prices have been marked down). He came home and realized this, went back told the manager. Manager told him it's not his fault, and that their employees weren't doing their job and said he will have to have a talk with them.
Bottom line: it's not your fault that their employees can't do their freaking job right. They get paid to do one thing and if they can't do it either they need to be fired or face the consequences which is job not being done.Comment -

#160The guy had 1700 in account, bet and lost 700, and got paid 1500. That means he got a free 500. Not 1500. Jon just shrugs off that loss. Meanwhile, Astro thinks he got a deal, where in reality it was a test. A test of character. Twenty years from now nobody will remember. Except Astro. He won't be able to forget. From time to time the memory will make him cringe. He'll wish he had paid the stupid 500 back, but it will be too late. And, as he mentioned, what goes around does come around. Cheat and be cheated. That's how she flies.Last edited by Dark Horse; 10-04-12, 06:15 PM.Comment -

#163I edited that. Jon is an honest guy. If you need to be told to not steal from an honest guy, there's something wrong with you. It means you can't be trusted. And that goes far beyond a sports book. Now, why anybody would want to advertise that here is beyond me. But he did.
You'll find some of the most trustworthy guys anywhere among gamblers. Not the low lives, but the stand up guys. That's the choice. Low life or stand up. You can't buy it. It is who you are.Comment -

#164yea i mean these books rip people off every day take advantage in every way possible, 1500 is not going to break them trust me they screwed someone out of that in the last 10 seconds, Karma is just a way people justify good or bad things happening to them its not some cosmic force that makes the world fair! Life is unfair we all bet we should know thatComment -

#169yea BI got the raw end of this deal...but the industry in general could care less about the player...even at "a+" books...im not saying I would have kept that money...but BI should have been more careful, just like players when they get ripped...Comment -

#170This was one of the most entertaining threads I've ever read! This is may take. Just the other day I contacted my sportsbook and informed that I made a mistake on my bet ticket. The game already started. They said "Sorry, your fault. You made a mistake." So this reputable sportsbook would not cancel the bet. Now we have a situation where the sportsbook made a mistake. Now why on gods green earth should they not pay for their mistake? Why don't they have better measures in place to prevent this? It's their fault, their mistake and their problem - period. Just like my bet was my mistake and my fault. As far as publicity goes this is bad publicity for that book because they do not have the proper procedures, employees, and methods in place to provide accurate payouts. That my friends is not something that I would want to advertise.Comment -

Agreed.
Betislands never wants to claim responsibility for any wrong doing.
Even the time they dropped my personal info to another SBR member. Fat Fuk Lou threatened me and told me it was my fault and I was trying to extort Betislands out of a freeplay when they asked me what they could do to resolve the issue.
Everything about BI and SBR relationship is a joke.
