I give a little edge to Rommney tonight. But the media way over analyzes debates these days, they have minimal impact on elections.
McCain won 2/3 debates last year, no one remembered that at all on election day. The election cycle happens so earlier and earlier these days, and debates are so late in the cycle 90-95 percent of people have their minds made up. They make it such a huge break through in the election when it has almost no impact at all.

Been saying since the start of the year, the electoral college break down is what matters. Right now obama would have to die, literally die to lose this race. Rommney would have to overcome a 8-12 pt deficit in ohio, would have to overcome a 6+ pt deficit in iowa, win a close race in Virgina, and FL, where obama has a 3-4 pt lead, and maintain his lead in north carolina where obama is surging hard.

all the rest of the states imo, are pretty much set in their ways. you could make an argument for NH, but obama has been leading their the last few weeks and hasnt voted for a democrat on a national ticket in a while.

just one more thing to add. One thing I am loving tonight is republicans quoting the 'liberal biased' main stream news pundits saying Rommney Won, when they have been saying the last few weeks, there polls are basically made up to support Obama, and they over poll Democrats on purpose to skew the numbers. which i find hilarious, there are some facts to the message of republicans being under polled in some circumstances, but they try to account for that number in many ways. they also give a margin of error, within the polling details and report. I use pollster.com and try to read the gallop poll report, or the WSJ. by all indications wall street journal is a conservative leading news publication, and fox news is strongly leading to the right.

the poll of polls on pollster is the best indication of who is going to win.

so to sum it up, i will allow the republicans to be happy for one night. because its going to be a long long long time before they have anther guy in the white house unless they transform their party dramatically. What I'm getting at is that we have a recession every 5-10 years in this country. The longest we've ever gone without one was 10 years. The last one ended in June of 09, so 7+ years between recessions would be a very good economic boom, which we're not currently in. It really has nothing to do with Obama or Romney, just an economic cycle.
