Purdue wins the B1G when hell freezes over. What happened when PU played a real defense in Notre Dame? They lost thats what. Mich is going to beat them this week they can play defense and PU can't. Drob is due for a bounce back breakout game and Purdue gave up 41 to Marshall. I feel stronger about this game then all but maybe 1 or 2 games this week.

They have a real good shot of not winning their division and going to the Big Ten championship

Definitely seems like a decent value longshot. I agree they can beat Mich.
Damn Herbstreit actually likes them to win the Big Ten, maybe I should not have taken them +3 this week? I am impressed by their D line, and that game at Notre Dame was extremely impressive considering that Purdue scored 17 points, more than ND has allowed to Mich and Mich St combined the last 2 weeks.
Purdue definitely looked as strong as ND in South Bend, soo anything is possible considering how open the Big Ten looks with Mich St not living up to their potential.

Man, this is an interesting post L'ville.
I am seriously looking into their game this weekend. I have been terrible betting the B1G this year - can't understand the landscape this year, where Northwestern is a viable power, and even the best teams are suspect.
Gotta love getting points at home.

Go do some research Louisville...Michigan is going to WAX Purdue. I'm helping you save money by not betting Purdue. This is a classic case of one team having an easier schedule and haven't been exposed yet. This game will be a blowout. OF THE WEEK!!!!!!

i doubt they win the Big Ten title outright after the championship game, it sure helps that both Penn St and Ohio st are exempt, and Wisconsin sucks.
Northwestern is actually the team i would choose...

you know the big 10, Greeny and herb were saying could you imagine northwestern/Purdue championship?
He liked northwestern this week too, I don't ... I think penn st rush defense will be too physical for the zone read attack

Wisconsin doesn't suck anymore fyi we got rid of the terrible oline coach and have been steadily improving. The only problem now is Matt Canada calling plays not the lose instead of playing to win.

It is a defining game for Purdue, a chance to show they can compete in the upper echelon of Big Ten football. But you cannot overlook Purdue's performance at Notre Dame.
Purdue played ND very evenly in that game losing by 3. More importantly for me was how they crushed ND's run offense, limiting them to 50-60 yards total, Mich relies heavily on the run.
Michigan also played ND and only scored 6 pts total, while Purdue scored 17 vs ND. Also the team Purdue played last week, Marshall, has a better pass offense than Mich. Michigan as usual is over hyped and over valued, although they could win here, I like Purdue and the FG.

Me too, but I already took Purdue. Herbstreit always reminds me of the kind of over confident guy you like to play golf with soo you can shred him on sport prop/game betting.

Conference predictions from ESPN 5 games in and you regurgitate it here lol. Herbstreit probably had Michigan preseason.
People just now realize "oh it's a 2 horse race in the leaders, and purdue gets wisconsin at home. oh purdue can easily win that game and take the division. oh so now i'm going to be special with an 'upset' pick and take them to win it all."
If they do win the leaders, they are losing to Nebraska in the Championship

Herbstreit Picked Auburn to win the SEC in 2010, while no one else gave them a chance. I like the Purdue pick this week, maybe even ML.

Herbstreit predicts Michigan State to beat Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game, and for the Badgers' Montee Ball to be the league's top player.

If a persons opinion is consistently changing, what is their opinion worth? That is his point.
Louisville, I do not doubt you chose Purdue to win the Big Ten on your own cognition. But others that do listen to ESPN "experts" for sound advice, well shame on them.

I know mine does. I now believe Arizona isn't a terrible shit hole of a football program currently. Also, USC isn't able to overcome its terrible coaching with sheer talent advantages in every game.

As more information becomes available, ie more game are played, your opinion should shift based on how you process the information. Handicapping is a plastic/flexible way of trying to paint a picture with as many sources as possible, inflexible thinking and an inability to reverse course is a -EV attribute.

Of course, although I would not offer up my opinion on TV unless I was supremely confident in it. These guys on ESPN will say anything, and mostly talk just to talk. Hour long shows with 10 minutes of sensible content.
