with less PED's at this point, most of the high priced free agents are signing for well beyond their peak years, and decline fast.

its back to building a good farm system through drafting, international signings/academies, trading for young high end prospects.

MLB doesn't want this, that is why they instituted some of the new draft $ rules and did away with FA compensation picks
