what would you do with 50 million?

i had a poker friend that was getting 2 million from the phen-phen lawsuit 10 years ago or so, and unfortunately he died before getting the money. his dream was to drive around the country being a big-timer at casinos and making $10,000 wagers all over the place

that seemed strange to me, that he only wanted money so that he could piss it away, but i still felt bad that he didn't get his dream

so i always think about what i would do if a big pile fell into my lap

here's what i would do this week:
1) put on craigslist that i am paying $800/ticket for all outdoor seats at lambeau with the added benefit that i am making a statement
2) make a video ripping the tickets up and swearing at the nfl
i'm pretty sure i could get 50,000 of the ticket holders to sell to me and i would laugh my ass off at the empty stadium

Buy a house in South Florida or San Diego right on the beach and spend every day riding jet skis and playing golf

i'm not sure of the details but he was essentially given a death sentence. said he was getting around 1.8 million, and he wasn't the kind of person to embellish it, not sure if it was because of wrongful death?

how long did it take for your mom and friend to get the money? he was waiting quite a few months after he knew the actual number

They got it fairly quickly. The payouts were based on levels. The levels were basically damage levels. The attorneys called me and my father to do depositions. I dont remember exact timeframes because it was 4-5 years ago, but I think it was only a few months because the class action. If they dispute the damage level it could have taken more time.

is it possible the initial estimates were 1.8 or that was the total before lawyer fees or something?
