I don't know much about video poker. How much can you play per hand? I'm guessing you played a lot of hands.

I was actually up 2k at one point. I built my bet up to the max of $125 ($5 per hand 25 handed) and slowly watched it all slip away. I remember getting dealt four to a royal twice and never got one out of the 50 hands. That killed.

I wouldn't blame on the Xanax. You probably need Xanax to reduce the effect of caffeine and to slow down a brain tormented buy a gambling addiction. Make this experience a positive force to make you a better man. being unable to sleep is a sign to be taken seriously, as there is always a cause. Popping pill will only blind your capacity to see the root of your imbalance. Yoga, a healthy diet, positive thinking, physical exercise, mind and body cleaning through a good diet and a balanced mind plus a regular sleeping schedule will allow you a to have a nice sleep.

OP - I have been in your shoes many many times. I can't tell if 16k is, like, borderline life-changing money or is it a significant amount but not life-changing to you. Either way, it sucks very bad... I don't know if you had ever done something like this but it gets better in a couple days. I have never lost 16k, but I did lose 13k in about 2 hours playing online BlackJack. Granted, it was all winnings (deposited $300, and ran it up to 13K in about 2 days playing in the casino on Carbon Poker. I had played a 2 to 3 hr session on BJ, and completely destroyed the house, ran that $300 up to 8K. The next day, I played all day, mostly BJ. That 8k went back and forth between 5K and 10K, before I finally dipped to 2K. I was playing single hand the whole time and I started playing 3 hands, max betting $200 each hand. In 45 minutes I had 15k. I got up from the computer for the first time in hours, first time my eyes came off the computer for god's sake. I handed the internet modem to my gf, and she went to sleep with it under her pillow. I also had her change my password, I was going to cash out 10k, and play with the other 5k, but not until my cashouts had been accepted. So after several frugal attempts to convince her to hand over the modem and let me play 30 more minutes (she got totally pissed off at me for nagging her), I let her fall asleep. I then snuck into the bedroom and slipped out the modem... 1st step complete. I then clicked "forgot password" and got the email with a new one... step 2 done... Copy/Paste... log in, BAM Blackjack in less than 90 seconds. Needless to say, I was broke in 2 hours. Felt like shit for a few days, had to tell my GF what happened. She was all right. I survived...

or you might end up like me last night. Popped a few xanax to help me sleep but took a detour to the 5Dimes casino. Stayed up until 8 am this morning and ended up -16k. Still struggling to wrap my head around it today.

Xanax is a drug that should never be taken ever! Just because a drug is given to you by a doctor does not mean it is any better than illegal drugs. Please try something else to help you sleep like benadryl or even nyquil. Xanax and the rest of the benzo family of drugs are given by unethical doctors meant to passify and brainwash society.

people think prescribed meds are safe since doctors prescribe them but what people don't realize is pharmaceutical companies don't spend billions of dollars not to make it addictive. these companies make money by making their customers take them forever.

if you still have symptoms of anxiety or what not, get some gaba made by solgar and take two in the morning. you'll feel a lot better than taking benzos. gl
