bet if they put regular refs back to work and didnt announce it no one would know the difference, they both suck!!

Two questions about last night's ending:

1) Why was the play reviewed if it couldn't be overturned?
2) Why was the ruling on the field technically a "touchdown" when one official signaled touchback and the other TD simultaneously?
