I wouldnt count on that - I would imagine that the guys who are loansharking money to degenerate gamblers are very friendly with the guys booking the bets from said degenerate gamblers.

Lets face it, comparing notes on these guys from time to time would be in both of their best interests as the bookie would be happy to know about those people who are borrowing money to gamble with as they would have more of an idea if they would be stiffed from a guy who cant afford to pay his losses...and the loansharks would be happy to know those guys who had lost a load gambling, and might be in the lookout for a loan...
