The Electoral College system needs to be abolished
It is ridiculous that candidates campaign in mostly a few swing states, with most states not even getting visited once.

The winner should be based only on the popular vote, plain and simple, and candidates should be campaining for everybody's vote, not just 5% that are in swing states.

I live in NY, and am proud to have never voted in any election ever. There's absolutely no point to it, my vote is meaningless.

But this defies logic. The networks will never agree to this. It will hurt the ratings if it was much easier for the viewers to understand.

If it went by popular vote then Gore would have won 8 years ago.

Pretty hard to say your vote is meaningless when you come from a state that has 5% of the total electorals. Maybe if more people like yourself would vote, then your vote would have meaning.

Try growing up as a Liberal in a South Dakota which is a huge Conervative state...with only THREE electoral votes. Now that is a meaningless vote
