One thing I always admired about the old honor-coded Japanese societies is their strong sense of honor. Something incomprehensible, almost, to those of us in the West.
The warriors, the samurai, were considered the cream of society. Not the businessmen, who were placed near the bottom of the social order.
Because the warrior had an honor code (The Code of Bushido), and they were thus the only ones who could be trusted with the future of their nation.
If a warrior, or a leader of same, disgraced himself, by losing a battle for instance, suicide was then the only honorable alternative.
Bush, a spoiled child of privilege, drug and booze-soaked in school, legally dodged the draft during Vietnam by using family connections to secure himself a berth in the then mostly non-combative National Guard, and sent thousands to true soldiers to their deaths, to actualize the foreign policy of a foreign nation..........
This is not, tho, an honorable man. In fact, not much of a man, at all. In his collapse before "strong" men like Ariel Sharon and Dick Cheney, he proved only that if he is indeed a cowboy, it's of the Brokeback Mountain variety.
History will likely record the presidency of GW Bush as the evanescence of the white male in America. In electing this pathetic and dishonorable cretin to the land's highest office, the American whilte male took upon themselves a share of little George's horrendous dishonor.
Meanwhile, I'm not waving pom poms over the huge win of Obama. Because I know what's coming.
You will too, if you read the history of all "multicultural" nations. ("Multicultural nation" is actually an oxymoron)
Government intruding, albeit clumsly, in every aspect of life, laws multiplying like berserk rabbits on Viagra, balkanization, hate crimes increasing agains whites, mini-wars between blacks and Hispanics (just like in American prisons) --- welcome to the American 21st century.
Military rule in the USA by 2050. Probably by 2030. Because only a strong hand will be able to control the chaotic mess we will be by then . . .
(Hopefully, if GW is still alive by that time he will be encouraged for once in his sorry life to do the honorable thing.)
