NHL cancels preseason games through Sept. 30

With no end in sight to the NHL lockout, the league Wednesday announced the cancellation of preseason games through Sept. 30, including four Chicago Blackhawks games.

The exhibition games are the first scheduling casualties of the lockout that began late Saturday night after the league and NHL Players' Association could not come to an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement.

The first four of the Chicago Blackhawks' six scheduled preseason games were canceled, including two games against the Detroit Red Wings and one each against the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins. As of Wednesday, two games remain on the exhibition schedule, Oct. 5 against the Penguins in Pittsburgh and Oct. 6 against the Flyers at the United Center.

The Hawks' regular-season slate is scheduled to begin Oct. 13 against the Columbus Blue Jackets at home.

Brock, even die hard NHL fans don't give a fukk about this. It is the people that make an honest living in the bars, arenas, transportation, etc. that are really hurt by this the most.

The owners are there to make money. Thats why they bought an NHL team.

The players are there to get a pay check and hopefully because they love the game. The players are paid way too much, and it's completely irrelevant how much money the owners make. 12 million a year, phuck off.

Anyone who gets a million a year has no room to complain. Suck it up fancy boys.
