#3Last week....oh wait, not all states have early voting, which is ridiculous. What's the point of trying to cram thousands upon thousands of people within a 12 hour window to vote?
It took me a total of about 25 minutes to wait and line and vote.Comment -

To discourage them from the voting. Poor areas can't afford weeks of voting, and they vote overwhelming Democrat.Comment -

#20Should have a two-week period for voting in all states when it's a presidential race, open up more polling places and give everyone two weeks to cast their ballots. At our little precinct, I'm guessing that the longest lines are now (opening at 7 a.m. local until about 10) and then get busy again by mid-afternoon until closing. I've already early-voted, and don't really understand why anyone with early voting available doesn't take advantage of it. But if I was going to do it today I would probably try going in around 10:30 to 11:00 this morning.Comment -

#21I always find that going really early or around 10 am usually works the best.
Early morning can be spotty if you're in a district with lots of elderly, though. I choose 10 am to avoid that crowd and also beat the lunchtime voting crowd - and people taking 1/2 days to vote - which start filing in around 11 am -12 noon. This strategy also helps at the DMV... It's mustard.
Thankfully Nevada has early voting - I did mine 2 weeks ago right before grocery shopping - the entire process took about 5 minutes... s'nice.Comment -

#22going at lunch time...never waited more than 2 mins before. Though i heard of people waiting 45 mins this morning. I guess the time to NOT go is before you head to work when everyone and their dog thinks its a good time to go, not to mention the geriatric crowdComment -

#32Voting opened on the West Coast at seven am. I was in line at 7:22. Line of about 70 people. { Worst than a bad day at the race track}. It took about a half hour to get to the front of the line. Then my name is not on the list! After another five minutes I was discovered with two new vowels in my last name. In all the process took 45 minutes from my day.
For the record I was planning to vote for the football tout vice president ticket. Yet at the booth I wrote in Ron Paul. It doesn't matter anyway the Democrats own California . The Congressional and school board races I voted for those with political sounding names. On the props I voted NO on all the odd #'s and Yes on all the even #'s.
Now that I've done my civic duty I can look forward to a letter telling me for report for jury duty (OR ELSE} next month. God bless America!
Lots of african Americans were voting when I was there, about one out of every three people.Comment -

#33i just voted about 45 minutes ago. hell, i went by the school this morning around 7:45-8, it was packed, had never seen that many cars on election day. We vote in the cafeteria on the end of the school. I didn't go in cause last time i voted for something about 2 years ago i think, the line wasn't all that long, maybe 30-35 people for my precinct/area, but it took over an hour. So i rode back over about an hour ago and it was still packed and cars are just coming and going like crazy, so i ride to the store thinkin i'll go back after 10, it is bound to settle down after then. At the store a couple people are talking about just voting and i mention it looks packed, dude says it was fast and lines moving quick and not as many people as it looks from the outside, he said they got all kinds of school stuff going on and some PTA meetings and etc. So i ride back over and park, go in , maybe 12 people in line in front of me for my area, took about 6-7 minutes.Comment
