Just a few days until the Dubai World Cup
One of my favorite traditions of the year - going to the track on the morning of the Dubai World Cup. Free coffee and pastries - it makes up for the takeout

And just the rush of watching the track employees so THRILLED to be showing up four hours before their regular shift.

Yes - this Saturday it all happens!

          Hope we ALL do, zebra!

Have to say it's one of those mornings where I feel the ACTION more than the cash anyway. The rush of betting huge races on the other side of the globe during morning coffee - gets the day off to a super start win or lose!

Cool to hear, 13th! It's one of the few days left there with any kind of promotion.

I actually saw the new track up close and personal....driving your boat into the Marina/track was pretty high end....most incredible horse track I've ever seen. When you think about the state of horse racing in the US, the shiek really knows how to do it up My favorite jockey over there was Ahmed Ajtebi...couple of years ago dude was a nobody and knocked down 5 million worth of races in a couple of hours and the rest is history

good luck trying to pick that 15-20 horse field racing. you'd be lucky to get one show horse home usually. oh you can spread like crazy and hit something but that has nothing to do with handicapping these races which are nearly impossible to do. stick to AQUEDUCT, GULFSTREAM, TAMPA BAY, FAIR GROUNDS, SANTA ANITA, LOS ALAMITOS, OAKLAWN for your own good. why help those arabs make more money when they are burning you at the gas station.

i think its still parimutuel (away from the uae of course) so arent we all just looking for "the other guys" money?
ill admit to taking it the rump at the pump but for some reason i aint so hostile towards that gorgeous track full of towel heads....i find it quite odd that i can draw a line in the sand(no pun-ok a lil) right there but i do.
please correct me if i am wrong about the a-rabs.

*dirtysanchez-im jealous. any pics you could share? "over the top" comes to mind when seeing the joint...
